When Payment is rejected, put items back in cart. Not in Pending Orders

Can we update so that if a payment fails (CC denied, billing address conflict etc.), items are put back in to a shopping cart?

As it stands, when this happens, items are shoved in to the "Pending Orders" and the only way to complete the order or even see what was rejected is to find it in order history.

I understand this is a utilizable workaround but it is not user friendly and unnecessarily intricate. The user should be able to simply try again.

I have received 3 separate complaints about this issue recently so it seems to be a common error.

I would also prefer to see the order go back to the cart. I understand that this could be a problem on the backend, but it seems like you could save the order # in a field to re-use if/when the customer actually completes the order. The order would just have to be suppressed from showing up in the orders listing until it is paid.

This is becoming a MAJOR issue for us and is showing in lost SALES. On B3C sites we have MANY customers that the payment fails and they have no clue. The typical online shopping experience would put the order back in the Cart so the customer would see the items were not ordered but they only get a message on screen and the order disapears into PENDING Orders that is not easily seen and no other notification of the order failing to be submited is provided. The best option would be to move these back into the Cart so we can use the Open Card notification to let the customer know that the items have not been ordered. OR a method like on B2B sites that the system can send an email reminder/notice that the order is in Pending and needs to be completed with a payment.

Not fully understanding why there are email notification for B2B Pending Orders but not for B2C Pending orders, it would seem the process and abiltiy is there just not applied?

Yes!!! This is a major headache for us. Our customers do not think to go to pending orders - they think it disappeared and they have to start all over.

My customers are also having trouble finding "Pending Order". I agree I would like them put back in the cart.
