Delete pending orders
Merged
If a pending order for some reason isn't paid, if the customer has cancled the order via phone, or any other reason, it is stuck in the pending workflow. The site-admin should always have a posibility to delete such an order.
You will be happy to see that we've merged this item into "Delete Orders". That item is already in planning and because the pending orders screen is using most of the same code as the Orders screen we will be able to take care of both together.
Once I have the details of exactly will be done I'll add it here.
What is your opinion on marking the pending order as deleted but it stays in the database and is hidden from the pending orders page by default but can be shown if needed?
This is a pain point, which I'm sure that you are already aware of. We just had a customer who launched their holiday gift campaign where we issued hundreds of promo codes. However, so many users don't follow simple instructions so we have 46 pending orders for this customer. The worst part is that when you edit a pending order and change it to denied and save it, it doesn't take. Therefore I have to finalize the pending order, then cancel it is Pressero admin. However, since we have the PressWise integration, it injects into PressWise and then as it goes through the queues, it changes the order status. That forces me to have to go to PressWise and cancel the order there.
When considering changes to Pressero, please consider how it will impact customers who are using integrations. If we had the ability to delete the Pending order from the beginning this would not have been an issue.
We hesitate to delete any order information from the database as it could cause a cascade of other issues.

This way your company will have the ability to see information on the order at a later date just in case. Such as who deleted it and why.
As of this morning, when an order in Pending is edited, there is now a "Convert to Order" button at the bottom of the edit window. That will mark the order as paid and send it to the main orders list, and send the email notification for the order. It will not change the approval status of the order. So these types of orders can then be marked as cancelled.
Agreed. However, to expand on this, it would be nice if once any Pending Order is denied, it should be deleted as well. If not immediately, then perhaps after a certain number of days has passed? I don't see any reason to maintain denied pending orders indefinitely.

Great! Yes!

Hi Chris ...
I have just asked our customer, and he agree that this could be a fine solution.
Most important is that orders can be "removed" from the queues, so they can maintain a clean order-flow.
Best regards, Jesper
Hi Jesper,
Thanks for the idea.
