Delete Orders

Typically, when developing a new site, we will place several test orders to make sure everything is working as the customer expects. We would like the ability to remove these orders completely from the site or at least have a separate deleted orders area where we can hide them from the customer users who have access to all orders. Currently they need to sift through a bunch or test orders when they run reports.

    Michael,

Thank you for the clarification. I've created a feature for the R&D team to improve the Delete Orders feature by adding a filter to Report Writer as well as add the details to API endpoints. I haven't check the endpoint to see if they are already added but I know it wasn't part of the scope of the item. Thank you for your feedback!

Jim, As always thank you for the responses here. Much of the difference is based on complexity and time. We've intentionally cut out some aspects of these features to release a V1 version that covers the greater portion of business value then we plan for improvements as we get feedback. The feedback here is valuable. We are current planing the deletion of pending orders. I'll send you an email so we can get on a meeting and talk about the exact implementation of this so it meets your expectation 100%. Thanks again!

    Hi Chris,

I do confirm I'm speaking about the "Report Writer" in the Pressero Admin.

By the way I have not checked yet if the PRESSERO API has been enhanced so that this information can be included in the order extraction, but it would be a natural to plan a change here as well (Orders - Get Order Details)

    Regards,

    Chris,

I would like to add one point. When you mentioned that this feature is working as developed, you are 100% correct. Although there sometimes seems to be a disconnect between the feature that your users requested and the feature that is ultimately delivered.

On one hand I can fully understand how this can happen. Managing user expectations is always a chore. On the other hand, I can't understand how it continues to happen.

Is there any indication as to when/if the ability to delete pending orders is going to arrive? Please note that I am fully aware that no firm dates can be given. I'm mostly trying to gauge if that portion of the feature request is still planning on being developed.

    Michael,

When you reference "File report" do you mean the "Report Writer" in Pressero admin. I just want to be clear that we are on the same page so we can get this enhancement planned. thank you for the comment!!

    Hi,

Good to see it is possible now to "delete" an order.

Just got the confirmation from your team that it is indeed not possible to filter on this "deletion" status in the file report.

This makes no sens to me and the file report cannot be used to extract a clean financial report as it includes deleted orders...

It seems to me mandatory that you add the "order cancelled" = YES / NO in the file report so that the Order level report can be used.

Not sure I should add this a new idea. To me it should be part of the order deletion feature.

Thanks for the feedback. The feature is working as developed, please see the KB article for details. We did not add the deleting of pending orders yet. That addition is in planning.

Same Coment as Jim Riddles, I do not see it ifor the 'Pending Orders' section. Every order that is on that section for us needs to be deleted. This feature is not working.

How about for pending orders. I noticed that it was one of the ideas that was merged with this one. However, I don't see any way to delete a pending order.

We plan to have this feature implemented in our next version of Pressero. Pressero V7 will rollout in phases starting at the end Q2 2022 and we hope to have 75% of our subscriber base on the new version by the end of the year.

    LW,

This will be released within the new version of Pressero (Pressero V7) along with many other ideas in planning phase and will be available to all subscribers mid to end of this year.

    1. After testing for a site is done is it important that order numbers start in a certain place? Also, is is a problem if order numbers have gaps? Order numbers can start anywhere and have gaps.

    2. Is it important that orders are completely deleted from the database? The alternative is to mark orders as test or hidden, all the data is there, but customers do not see it. Not important. As long as an order marked "deleted" doesn't show up in the customer's order history or reports.

Thank you for adding your use case to this idea. I will add your comment to the work item so we have an even better idea of what our subscribers need.

I'm all for the ability to Delete Pending Orders. We currently have orders that, for whatever reason, the customer ends up not completing the first or second or third order they place for the exact same items. Order #4, aha! they pay for that one. Now I have 3 identical orders sitting in the Pending Queue. Not Good. Need to be able to delete and NOT finalize or complete. Too many extra steps to take when finalizing the order, pops into queue, pops into our integration software, receive another email notification, then have to go in and cancel, delete, and delete.
