Notification of Upcoming Changes Before Release

Once thing that I have never been thrilled about is how Aleyant will release an update, and only after will you notify your customers.  Sometimes after the update has been out for a few days.  I would love to see a pre-release notification with the upcoming changes detailed.

Doing this will allow us to not be caught off guard when a customer emails us about something they have never seen before.  A perfect example is the latest update that shows the Payment column on the order history.  My customer was not used to this and it freaked her out.  I wasn't aware of any updates, so I didn't know what to tell her.

Oh, and as an FYI, the link on the current latest news article is not working, either.

The link is "http://: https://mailchi.mp/23b8e486fe37/dec2019-1510673".  Note the extra "http:// " at the beginning of the URL.  It is wrong on the blog page, as well.

I do read the latest news when it pops up.  My assumption was that it pops up when new information is available, but I could be mistaken.  The problem with the latest news is it might be several days after an update before any news is posted.

I do know about the News button, and do use it occasionally, but I don't check it religiously.

I am not subscribed to the blog, but it is my understanding that when a new blog is posted that it is also followed by a news update on the admin page.

I do not follow Aleyant on FaceBook or Twitter.  My guess is that posts would be about newly released features, and not soon-to-be released features, but I could certainly be wrong about that.

All I want is timely notices of upcoming updates that may affect my customer's experience using our storefronts.  I am open to signing up for the blog newsletter, as long as it provides information prior to the release.  That will allow me time to see what is coming and be prepared for customer questions.

Here are the various ways Aleyant currently communicates updates and changes:

    • Every few weeks the Pressero Admin will automatically pop up the latest news on product changes when you login. Are you reading it?
    • You can also click the News button (top right corner) on the Pressero Admin main page to manually bring up this news area. Have you tried it?
    • Updates are also posted on our blog, blog.aleyant.com. Have you subscribed so you'll be sent an email when new posts are added?
    • The updates are sent as part of our monthly newsletter. Do you read it?
    • Our Facebook and Twitter accounts often have info on updates. Do you follow the?
    • And yes, we also send out press releases too. :-)

So my question is, what can be added to the above to insure you know about an update in the software?

Here's a perfect example.  I am subscribed to Printing Impression's PIworld eNewsletter.  There is an article in today's email titled "Aleyant and SmartSoft Announce Pricing Integration Between Pressero and Presswise".  The article ends with this line:
"The pricing integration is immediately available to customers operating with Pressero and Presswise systems."

    https://www.piworld.com/article/aleyant-smartsoft-availabilty-price-integration-pressero-presswise/#ne=fc3b44360a5a6e194970d1cd495a9c04&utm_source=today-on-piworld&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=2019-11-19

This is the first that I have heard of this.  It is potentially very exciting news, but not a peep about it from Aleyant directly to your own customers.  At least not that I am aware of.  I have checked back through the latest Pressero update article, but nothing about this.

Thanks Jim, this is something that we will be addressing starting at the beginning of 2020.
