Cart Level Discounting

This idea would be an enhancement that would allow a cart level discount based on products that have been entered into the cart. Example, In a Print Shop pricing there is a discount on buying business cards.

1-1000

1001-2500

if a customer puts in 4 different orders of business cards at 500 each,, they then qualify for the next range of discount.

the discount would be applied as there are 4 separate orders of business cards but they match as the same product and therefore qualify for the total qty discount.

I have tested this BETA-function, and it is looking good.

Only, if we need to have more discount-steps, every step is presented as a seperate discount-line.
Can this maybe be connected (as an option) ?

And when "matching" the "Greater Than or Equal To" should have more options ... so that 1 discount could be "equal to 2", and next discount level would be "3 and above".

Or even better a "scriptable" field that gives an option to do a math of given parameters.

    Hi ,

Very exited to see the new cart level discounting.

While it is great to have this at the product level, it should also be at a site group level.

Some products will have different pricing depending on their Site Group.

    Example

IF Site group??? use discount on products XY&Z

Site group Everyone - flyer $80

Site Group Corporate Office - flyer $80 less cart level discount.

This is much easier than editing all the Excel Calculators for more than 50 products each time a discount changes for Corporate.

    1. Would cart level discounts be applied in addition to discounts per product based on quantity purchased? Yes

    2. Do you have a need for applying cart based discounts across a wide range of products? We originally were looking at applying a discount like this to all apparel, but it's not a necessary feature if we can apply the discount per product, too.

    3. If we create cart level discount groups do you need these groups to have assignments to site groups? We don't need this, but I can see how it would be beneficial. Currently, we don't have different pricing per site group, but if we did, we'd also want the discount to be per site group.

I don't know what the others are looking for, precisely. I can say that for our shop, we would like to see pricing adjusted based on total quantity of like items. As Trent stated in the original posting, if 4 batches of 500 business cards are ordered, then the price for 2,000 business cards should be used.

    Hi Everyone,

We are now looking into this feature and would like more input so that we create the feature to fit your needs perfectly.

    1. Would cart level discounts be applied in addition to discounts per product based on quantity purchased? Example: 1000 Business Cards has an X% discount defined in the product. 1000 Flyers has an X% discount defined in the product. Both are added to the cart and qualifies for an additional X% discount because there are 2000 items in the cart.

    2. Do you have a need for applying cart based discounts across a wide range of products? Example: Customer purchases Business Cards, Brochures, Flyers and the total qty is over 2000 and qualifies for a discount.

    3. If we create cart level discount groups do you need these groups to have assignments to site groups?

    Thank you for your help.

I believe this is imperative for any print shop. I already have several products that need this pricing structure.

This is a must have. I'd say about 2-3 times per month I have to issue customers a partial refund because they are ordering enough product to qualify for a discount but Pressero does not acknowledge this because they are not the same line item.

This is still "In Review". Clearly a feature many users want and need.

Coming back to this again ...

A way to configure cart level pricing adjustments/discounts is a must have for us now.

    The idea:

    1) Assign a cart level pricing code to each product in the catalog. For example a code might be "Label-3x5". Many different products can be assigned the same code.

    2) Build a cart level adjustment table for each code. Multiple tables for each code can be set up: Total Quantity, Total Items, Total Price.

    3) At checkout the system applies the various adjustments based on the items with codes that match to the tables to calculate the overall net selling price for the order.

The pricing codes should have a group assignment so only users of that group qualify for the pricing adjustment.

This programming is already part way there with the promo code stuff. It just needs some additional logic to group the items by cart pricing code and apply the adjustments as defined in the tables.

This is real world stuff. A customer who orders 10 items of basically the same product is demanding a discount on the additional items ordered that are essentially the same thing over and over. They also expect a better price for overall large quantities.

YES Please - we have needed this feature for years and when reviewing other systems it is definitely lacking!  Would be a great plus to be able to offer!

This has been brought up many times over the year's in our organization. Many use cases for smaller B2B clients who get discount pricing based on timed order volume (as there are cost savings when producing multiples of the same product type).

This is a great idea an has been asked for many times over the years.

Products will need a new field to indicate if that product is eligible for cart discounting and a maximum percent discount on that product.
