If a user selects the "Customer Pickup" shipping method, the ship-to address should either auto-populate to the appropriate pickup address or gray out. Currently, our shipping team receives a lot of competing information with users selecting both the pickup shipping method and a non-local ship-to address. We aren't sure which is the mistaken information and have to reach out to confirm the user's intent.
Bringing this back up since our Accounting team is still running into tax miscalculations based on incorrect address entries.
Also, to help with vote counts, this idea could be merged with: "If customer wants to pick up their order....ship to address should not be seen"
We also have this problem with our customers on Pressero and PJM.
When the user selects a "Customer Pickup" delivery method, the customer's delivery address should never be displayed (order process, order summary, email notifications, PDF estimate in PJM, estimate online in PJM...) and the choice should be made between the available facilities (PJM) or headquarters (Pressero).
The "Ship to" labels must also be changed everywhere to "Pickup".
Since we started working with PJM in 2020, we had already pointed out this important point.
Adding to the case - Our accounting team is running into tax issues due to users being able to select a Pickup option (which would be subject to local tax) and then put in a different shipping address
Yes, it is very confusing to our clients when they receive the Order Received/Complete email with
Shipping By: HOLD FOR PICKUP
Shipping to: Users address...
There needs to be a way to edit the ##CART_SUMMARY##.
It should populate based on delivery options.
Back to this ...
The shipping method of "Customer Pick Up" or "Will-Call" should automatically set the delivery address to the pickup location.
It happens over and over where a customer uses "Will-Call" (which calculates a no cost delivery) but then sets a delivery address that is far away.
This has come up a few times over the years and it is a common cause of frustration for Pressero users and their customers.
We also use a local pickup option and it can be confusing when the customer receives the confirmation with a "shipping to" address on it. I love the idea to auto populate the pickup location address rather than the shipping address they enter.
Yes - this an excellent idea and would solve a common problem.
