Sort Products by Most Recently Added

Our network has recently had multiple client requests for the ability to show/sort products by most recently added (newest to oldest). This could be a useful feature for the client-facing interface and help users find what they are looking for more easily. It would be ideal if this was an additional option in the "Sort by" dropdown menu on the category page.

The only way to do this currently would be a very manual process on the admin side. You would need to download the product export list, sort by the creation/modification date, then re-organize the products in the category one-by-one based on the export list. Having this quick and easy tool available to the ordering user would eliminate the need for any manual work, and could remain optional for those who do (or don't) want to use it.
