Group Budgets for Individual Users

Currently, to track a budget for a specific user you have to create a budget for that user, and it only applies to that user. We have customers who would like to assign budgets to all of their users or for specific user groups that track to the individual. Employee apparel is the prime example of this. This could also be the case for companies that give each individual salesperson a budget for their sales expenses. For companies with more than 10-25 employees, creating and managing these individual budgets is an extreme hastle, no matter who manages it.

I propose that there be a budget type that can target a user group but tracks individual user budgets instead of the entire group's budget. It could be named something like "Group Users" or something like that. Or, maybe it could be a checkbox option to track individuals so you could still set the type to Site, Location, or Department.

As a quick example, I may want everyone in Sales to have a $200 dollar budget each month. If Tim in sales spends $50, that would detract from his $200 budget to $150, but Alice's budget remains unaffected at $200.

    David, Thanks for the Idea.

    This sounds like what you need is the ability to bulk update budget amounts based on the users group. Is that correct?

    And, could you achieve that by using the import / export feature?
