We use promo codes for special projects or promotions that our client then needs to gather data on. If the user has trouble implementing that promo code or misses the promo code altogether, we would like the ability to apply the applicable promo code to Pending and Existing orders.
Ideally this would be an addition to the user's Pending Order 'Pay Now' checkout process; as well as an option to add or change the promo code on the Admin Pending Orders & Order Details.
Has anyone from Aleyant taken note of this idea? This continues to be a pain point for us. We have far too many customers who simply can't follow the instructions to apply the code before checkout.
That said, I still feel that not allowing a customer to apply a promotion code to a pending order is short-sighted. At the very least someone at our company should be able to apply a code via the admin console.

Hopefully this gets serious consideration for a quick add to the system. Telling my customer that I can't add a promo code to a pending order really makes us look inept. Of course, they should just follow directions...it isn't a difficult process.
This does appear to be validating the codes now as of 2:45 PST 9/15/21 - Maybe it was just misbehaving earlier.
In addition there should be a function on the checkout page to verify the code to the list of available promotion codes. The user should not be able to apply a non existent code when they are only alllowed one chance.
