We are not open on Weekends and close for some bank holidays. It would be really helpful if we could block those dates on the "requested ship by" calendar so we don't have customers request ship dates we can't accommodate. Right now we just try to re-schedule with the customer, but that isn't a fail-proof system, as we received an order on a Friday afternoon requesting Sunday pickup, which we couldn't do.
Thanks T.Coke,
We did not integrate it with a system that would auto input holidays for the US as it would have pushed this feature way back. We opted to get it out sooner with manual entry. For now you will need to add holidays that fall on different days each year manually. For the most important holidays you can quickly set the dates for the next few years if you like.
I agree with Jim's suggestions as I had to put in a separate date for the closures that fall on multiple days. I also had the same issue with the reoccurring holidays as they do not always fall on the same day each year, so I opted not to set them as reoccurring.
I agree with your first suggestion Jim and we did look into this. The scope of the item would have been increased dramatically, especially with all the countries we service, so we opted to get it out faster but still provide the ability for subscribers to enter it manually.
The date range is a great idea. I'll create a new feature and have this as an improvement.
As always thanks for the feedback Jim!!
This is great news. I like the ability to occur annually, however I do have a couple of issued with the way it is currently designed.
First is that when specifying the annual renewal, there are few holidays that occur on the same date each year. Also, there are many holidays that occur on weekends but are observed on the weekday. It would be nice if Aleyant could pull the information for standard holidays and allow us to enable/disable them in the UI. I understand that may be too much work, and it's okay if it can't be done.
Second, and more important to me is the ability to set a date range. We are shutdown each year between Christmas and New Year. I don't mind having to add it manually, but I just had to add 5 separate entries for this year's shutdown. Not to mention that I had to add two entries for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Some years it would be two entries for Independence Day, as well. Please add the ability to set a date range.
Overall I'm thrilled with this release. Thanks for all of your time and efforts!
Hello everyone!

It's in development now and we hope to have it out in Q4. We postponed work on this feature and many others to focus on performance improvements and have made some great strides forward there. I hope that you are feeling the improvement on the system. Now, we are back to regular feature updates.
Any updates on when this feature will be available. You mention Q2, we are now in Q4 and would love to be able to block holiday periods coming up.
We plan to have this feature implemented in our next version of Pressero. Pressero V7 will rollout in phases starting at the end Q2 2022 and we hope to have 75% of our subscriber base on the new version by the end of the year.
Any idea on when this might be added Chris?
Moved to Planning Phase. :)
This is one of the top 3 items we will be developing next.
We are actively reviewing this item and would like to give an overview of initial planning to see if it meets your business needs. Here is what we're thinking.
Create a work days and holiday's calendar in the preferences area.
Subscribers can easily pick the days of the week they do not work. This would apply to every week of the year.
Holiday's will be entered manually and will repeat yearly. An inline edited grid where the date and holiday name can be added.
Checkbox added to the checkout area in site settings to limit date choices to the "Company Calendar" (playing with names here, please provide input :)
By adding this calendar to the preferences area in Pressero it can then be used for the request ship date date picker on any site as well as any date pickers in admin and storefront.
For the initial release the calendar will only be used for the requested ship date picker.
Let us know if that overview meets your business needs.
Thanks for any feedback.
GREAT NEWS!!!!!! Hope it will be implemented very soon!!!
Yes, this would be extremely helpful. In addition, we also shut down between Christmas and New Years, so being able to add separate date blocks would be extremely helpful, as well.
We are a grand format printer that have started using Pressero in Dec 2020. We are not open on weekends and closed for holidays. We need the Pressero software to allow for us to exclude weekend days and holidays on the shipping calendar. I see that another customer made this very important recommendation back in Sept of 2019. Hopefully your engineers are working on this and it will be solved soon. This is a major flaw in the software.
