Import Taxes

Specifically for smaller businesses like ours that don't want to pay extra to use a 3rd party service (Avalara) to configure the tax rates automatically, it would be beneficial to be able to import the tax rates into Pressero by Excel spreadsheet or CSV. We calculate taxes by county in-house and zip code online (in GA there are 926 zip codes to enter). It would be extra beneficial if this could be done across each tax rate specifier (State, Zip Code, Country).

It would also be beneficial to add "County" to the list for how taxes are determined.

"Can Aleyant subscribe to a standard sales tax database that can be applied to the stores?

We uploaded a tax profile to our account but states/municipalities are constantly changing their rates. I recently identified a zip code that wasn't in our profile so taxes were not being charged on the store. That is less of an issue if we are invoicing in QB as we can tax the item there. However, if the customer has a credit card check out, they could check out without paying the appropriate sales tax.

We pay a monthly fee to Aleyant which is higher than our accounting software which includes full sales tax functionality. A subscription to a standard sales tax database should be included and would greatly reduce the risk of sales tax errors."

Just had to deal with this myself because Florida has county surtaxes in addition to state tax. So each county can have a different tax rate. Now, since users are not expected to enter their county during checkout, I had to take it a step further and specify the tax rate for each zip code.

I was able to create a spreadsheet with every zip code in the state of Florida and their corresponding county and tax rate, but as you mentioned it can't be imported.

The workaround for me was to pay Aleyant a small one-time fee to do this for me. They did it within 48 hours. From here on, I'll just need to be sure to update any records if the tax rate changes for a county. (Or pay again for another import).

The ability for me to import this list myself would be nice.
