As I see this, most companies that are serious about eCommerce and specifically W2P eCommerce, need a very full featured platform to build on that does not tie us down in independent development. Expanding the capabilities of the Gift Certificates will help with a few aspects and other eCommerce options that are in the market.
The ability to use an API to tie Gift Certificates to Rewards Programs OR allow a Site Owner driven access to add, update, view, and/or manage Gift Certificates would be a significant enhancement.

I just got another request for a Gift Certificate API so I'm reviewing this.
