Proper previewing of multiplying layers and images during editing

I noticed while making an interactive template that had an image that uses the multiply effect that the preview is not correct until after the client finishes editing and views the document proof. Is there any way for the file to be previewed correctly while still being edited? I worry that clients would be hesitant to select and okay a file that looks different from what will actually print.
