Save response sets on the client-side, so that an end-user can fill out the information, and be able to use the same information on a different template/product (so long as the fields match), without having to re-enter all the information again.
Example: The site user customizes a product design, adds their information, but decides that they want to change to a different design (product) instead. Currently, the user would have to re-fill all the fields again.
The response sets module can be named for its purpose on the site. See Ticket #[104-249E9997-0A4B] for a specific site example.
We would absolutely love to have this option as well. Eliminating the need for client having to send new excel files every time they want to update personel files, and then having to wait for us to upload the data.
I was just about to write this ticket myself. I agree that this would be much more useful, would save the clients and the developers time and would eliminate the need for a client to send an Excel file (and if it's not in response set format, having to reformat the Excel file), receive the file, type it out, upload and then rinse and repeat for every update a client needs.
I've run into this problem several times with our clients that use eDocBuilder for business cards, especially the ones who have a slightly higher-than-normal turnover rate and are sending us updates sometimes bi-weekly. It's not difficult to do, but with the amount of other work that needs to be processed this can quickly become a nuisance and can break the workflow on other, more urgent projects. But I have had a couple of clients complain, some several times, that they spend "hours" entering employee information onto the business card template whenever the response sets haven't been updated.
I do believe that this is a feature that would generate a lot of interest from a buyer standpoint (useful as a selling point for eDocBuilder for clients who have clients who process these types of orders daily) and it would be a great quality of life improvement for existing customers.
This would be a huge benefit. I would even suggest letting the users create their own response sets for the same template/product, not just different ones. Whether the template is Form or Interactive based should not matter either. This is so painful every time I run into these either or template type limitations. Some type of a user created & saved "auto-fill" feature would be huge for us.
